AI for Client Advisory & Relationship Management

Advisors are paid for judgment and relationships, yet most of their week goes to preparation, documentation, communication, and paperwork. This course shows how an AI assistant takes the first pass on that work while every duty attached to advice stays with you. You'll learn to prepare meetings from the file, write commentary and client messages in your own voice, keep accurate records, and stay inside the rules on advice, marketing, data, and supervision as of September 2026. You'll finish with a redesigned advisory week that puts reclaimed hours back into client relationships.

Course Description

AI can take back many of the hours advisors spend before and after client meetings. What it can't take is the advice, because suitability, care, and disclosure duties attach to a licensed person, not a tool. This course shows how to work with an assistant while the advice, the record, and the relationship stay yours.

What you'll learn

  • The division of labor: the assistant prepares and drafts; you advise, verify, and sign
  • Verified meeting briefs, portfolio commentary from approved data, and messages in your voice
  • Meeting capture with consent, summaries checked as records, and tracked follow-through
  • Spotting drafts that cross into advice, and marketing, data, and record-keeping rules
  • Honest answers when a client asks whether you use AI
  • Redeploying reclaimed time, handling difficult conversations, and pre-send quality control

Answers to the most common questions about this course.

What is the AI for Client Advisory & Relationship Management course?
AI for Client Advisory & Relationship Management is a RiseCert online course that shows advisors and relationship managers how to use AI for meeting preparation, client communication, notes, and paperwork while advice and its duties stay with the licensed person. It includes 15 video lessons (just under 70 minutes) and a final exam.
Who should take an AI course for financial advisors?
Financial advisors, wealth managers, private bankers, relationship managers, and the client-service associates who prepare meetings and draft client communications. Branch managers, supervisors, and compliance staff who oversee AI-assisted client work also benefit, because the course covers supervision, records, and the review habits they will be checking.
Can financial advisors use AI to give investment advice?
Not as the course teaches it. Advice carries duties, including suitability or best interest, care, disclosure, documentation, and accountability, that can only be owed by a licensed, supervised person. AI may prepare and draft information, but any recommendation in a draft is either rewritten as the advisor's own considered advice under the firm's process, or removed.
How can financial advisors use AI to get time back?
The course shows AI taking the first pass on the four time sinks around client work: preparation, documentation, communication, and administration. That means meeting agendas from the client's file, performance summaries from approved data, drafts in your voice, meeting notes with consent, and form assembly, with you verifying every figure and fact before anything reaches a client.
What is the difference between information and advice in AI-drafted client messages?
Information describes what a product does, reports how a portfolio performed, or explains a concept. Advice connects a course of action to this client, for example 'given your situation,' 'you should,' or 'consider.' The course teaches that the crossing is usually one phrase, and that hedges or AI disclaimers do not turn advice back into information.
Can I record client meetings with an AI note-taker?
The course teaches that you can when the client is told and agrees before recording starts, with written consent where required, using only the firm's approved capture tool. Recordings, transcripts, and summaries are records under retention rules. The summary is verified the same day, and a client who declines gets handwritten notes and no difference in service.
Does the course cover marketing rules, testimonials, and client data?
Yes. Module 2 applies communication standards to AI content: fair and balanced, not misleading, performance only from approved reports, testimonials only from the firm's approved and consented set, and compliance review whatever the volume. It also covers approved tools and scope, minimum necessary data, advisor breach scenarios, and what to do when client data goes where it shouldn't.
How should an advisor answer a client who asks whether they use AI?
The course recommends a true, short answer consistent with the firm's public statement: approved tools help prepare, draft, and keep records; the advice is mine; I check everything first; your data stays in protected systems. Be honest about what can and can't be opted out of, record the conversation, and escalate questions you can't answer.
Do I need technical skills or prior AI experience?
No. The course is written for advisors and relationship teams, not technologists, and teaches AI use as an extension of everyday client work. There's no coding. Experience with your firm's own client systems helps, because the course assumes the assistant works from your client files inside the firm's approved tools.
What will I be able to do after completing the course?
You'll be able to prepare a verified one-page meeting brief, produce compliant portfolio commentary, scale personalized messages in your own voice, turn AI summaries into accurate records, catch drafts that cross into advice, apply marketing and data rules, answer client questions about AI honestly, prepare difficult conversations, and run a pre-send checklist and monthly sampled review.
Is the course content up to date?
Yes. Regulatory points in the course are stated at principle level and dated as of September 2026, including rising expectations for AI disclosure. Because tools and rules change, the course anchors on durable habits: prepare with the tool, verify everything, own the advice, be present, and follow through. Your firm's compliance team holds current specifics.
How long does AI for Client Advisory & Relationship Management take?
The course has just under 70 minutes of video across 15 lessons, plus a final exam. Lessons run about four to five minutes each and are organized into three modules: Preparing and Communicating; The Rules Around Advice; and The Relationship Edge. Most learners finish in one or two sittings.
Is the course online and self-paced?
Yes. The course is 100% online and self-paced, and your access does not expire. You can start, pause, and resume at any time on a computer, tablet, or phone with a modern web browser. There's nothing to install.
Is there a final exam?
Yes. The course ends with a 30-question multiple-choice final exam covering all three modules. You need a score of 80% or higher (24 of 30) to pass, and you can retake the exam as many times as you need. Finish all 15 lessons and pass the exam to complete the course and earn your certificate.
Do I get a certificate of completion?
Yes. After you complete all 15 lessons and pass the final exam, you can download a RiseCert certificate of completion from your account. It is a course completion certificate, not a license, professional designation, or continuing education (CE) certificate.
Does the course count for FINRA, insurance, or other CE credit?
No. The course is not currently approved for continuing education credit of any kind, including FINRA, insurance CE, CPE, or professional designation CE, by any regulator, state, or credentialing body. For required CE hours, take a course approved by the relevant body. This course complements that training with practical AI skills for advisory work.
Is the course approved or endorsed by a regulator?
No. AI for Client Advisory & Relationship Management is an independent RiseCert training course and is not endorsed, approved, or reviewed by any regulator or self-regulatory organization. It summarizes rules at principle level as of September 2026, and completing it does not establish compliance for you or your firm.
Is this course legal, compliance, or investment advice?
No. The course is educational and is not legal, compliance, regulatory, investment, or financial advice. It teaches principles and habits for using AI in advisory work, but it can't tell you what your firm or your clients should do. Your firm's policies, your regulators' rules, and qualified counsel govern specific decisions.
How much does the course cost, and can I enroll my team?
The course costs $99 per learner as a one-time purchase, with no subscription or recurring fees. To enroll an advisory team, branch, or practice, contact RiseCert through the Contact Us page at risecert.org.
What is the refund policy?
All sales are final and no refunds are issued, as stated in the RiseCert Terms of Use. Please review the course description, lesson list, and these FAQs before purchasing, and contact RiseCert with any questions first.
