Change Management for AI Transformation

People who were fine with a new CRM go quiet, or angry, when AI arrives, because AI threatens identity, competence, and job security at once. This course gives leaders a change playbook built for that reality: name the fears, tell the truth about jobs, equip managers, and listen and change. You'll learn to write a rollout narrative people believe, turn skeptics into reviewers, train for confidence, and handle the hard moments. You'll finish with a one-page communication playbook and the first message for your next rollout.

Course Description

Most of the standard change playbook still applies to AI, but it misses what people are actually afraid of. This course shows leaders how to run an AI rollout that people believe: honest about jobs, specific about what changes, and built on listening before messaging.

What you'll learn

  • Why AI change is different, the five fears it raises, and what answers each one
  • Treating resistance as information, and having the honest job conversation
  • The confidence curve and its dip, and where support has to go
  • A six-part rollout narrative, and managers equipped as the change agents
  • Champions picked for trust, skeptics recruited as reviewers, and training for confidence
  • Waves, feedback loops, the four hard moments, and norms that make AI use ordinary

Answers to the most common questions about this course.

What is the Change Management for AI Transformation course?
Change Management for AI Transformation is a RiseCert online course that teaches leaders how to bring a workforce through an AI rollout: naming the fears, having the honest job conversation, equipping managers, and sustaining the change. It includes 15 video lessons (about 1 hour 15 minutes) and a final exam, and ends with a one-page communication playbook.
Who should take a course on change management for AI?
Executives, HR and people leaders, change and communications professionals, AI program leads, and managers who will introduce AI tools to their teams. Anyone who has to answer "is my job safe?" or lead a team through its first weeks with an AI assistant will find the course directly applicable.
Why is AI change management different from other technology rollouts?
The course explains that a new system usually threatens one thing at most, while AI threatens identity, competence, and job security at once, and in public. That's why messages like "it's just a tool" or "this is about efficiency" backfire, and why the fear conversation has to come before the announcement, not after launch.
What are the most common fears employees have about AI at work?
The course names five: replacement, deskilling, surveillance, being judged by the tool, and looking foolish. Each needs a different answer, from a scoped job commitment and a skill map to a written measurement policy and safe practice. The course also shows how to hear which fear sits behind an objection.
How should leaders talk to employees about AI and job security?
The course teaches saying what's true, with its scope and its date. Leaders can promise the rollout's scope, the headcount plan for the period they control, the process, and the support, and should say what they don't know and when they'll know. Unscoped promises like "nobody will lose their job" are dropped.
How do you handle employee resistance to AI?
The course treats resistance as information rather than an obstacle. Objections reveal something about the tool, the plan, or trust, and a listening phase of small-group sessions comes before the messaging phase. Skeptics are recruited as reviewers, and the announcement leads with "you told us; we changed."
Do I need technical AI knowledge to take the course?
No. The course is about people, communication, and leadership, not technology, and involves no coding. It helps to have used an AI assistant yourself, because the course asks leaders and managers to try the tools first so they can speak from experience, including about what went wrong.
What will I be able to do after completing the course?
You'll be able to run listening sessions, write a six-part rollout narrative, have the honest job conversation, prepare managers with a conversation guide, build a champions network, design training for confidence, sequence waves, set up feedback loops, prepare for four hard moments, and write the first message of your next rollout.
How is this different from a general change management course?
General change courses teach announce, train, launch, and support. This course keeps what still works but focuses on what AI adds: fears about replacement and surveillance, the confidence dip after the first attempts, measurement that can feel like monitoring, and layoff rumors that have to be answered within a day.
Does the course cover the role of managers in AI adoption?
Yes. A full lesson covers managers as the change agents, because people adopt what their manager expects. It includes a 45-minute team conversation guide, exact answers to the hard questions, and a timeline that gives managers the tool, a briefing and rehearsal, and their own job conversation before their teams start.
How long does the course take to complete?
The course has about 1 hour 15 minutes of video across 15 lessons, plus a final exam. Lessons run about five minutes each and are organized into three modules: Understanding the Resistance; The Playbook; and Sustaining the Change. Most learners finish in two or three sittings.
Is the course online and self-paced?
Yes. The course is 100% online and self-paced, and your access does not expire. You can start, pause, and resume at any time on a computer, tablet, or phone with a modern web browser. There's nothing to install.
Is there a final exam?
Yes. The course ends with a 30-question multiple-choice final exam covering all three modules. You need a score of 80% or higher (24 of 30) to pass, and you can retake the exam as many times as you need. Finish all 15 lessons and pass the exam to complete the course and earn your certificate.
Do I get a certificate of completion?
Yes. After you complete all 15 lessons and pass the final exam, you can download a RiseCert certificate of completion from your account. It is a course completion certificate, not a license, a professional change management certification, or a continuing education (CE) certificate.
Does the course count for HR or continuing education credit?
No. Change Management for AI Transformation is not currently approved or accredited for continuing education (CE, CPE, or CEU) credit, or for recertification credit from any HR or change management credentialing body. If you need credit hours, take a course approved by the relevant body.
Is the course content up to date?
Yes. The course is built for the way AI rollouts unfold today, including assistants that draft, summarize, and answer, and the workforce concerns that come with them. It focuses on durable practices, such as listening, scoped commitments, manager enablement, and feedback loops, that hold regardless of which tools an organization adopts.
Does the course recommend specific AI tools?
No. The course is vendor-neutral and does not endorse any product. It refers to "the approved assistant" and the tools your organization has chosen, and focuses on how people experience the change: the fears, the confidence curve, the training, and the norms that make AI use ordinary.
Is this course legal or HR advice?
No. The course is educational and is not legal, HR, or employment advice. It teaches communication and change practices for AI rollouts, but decisions about roles, headcount, monitoring, and employment terms depend on your organization's policies, employment law, and qualified HR and legal professionals.
How much does the course cost, and can I enroll my team?
The course costs $99 per learner as a one-time purchase, with no subscription or recurring fees. To enroll a leadership team, a group of managers, or a whole organization, contact RiseCert through the Contact Us page at risecert.org.
What is the refund policy?
All sales are final and no refunds are issued, as stated in the RiseCert Terms of Use. Please review the course description, lesson list, and these FAQs before purchasing, and contact RiseCert with any questions first.
